Your hosts – The warmth of the Rungger family

Host family - Lüch da Morgnun

We are Manuel and Teresa Rungger. Together with our two children, Elias and Sara, we are your host family. Our little mountain paradise “Lüch da Morgnun” is our pride and joy. Manuel has been the master of the meadows and fields and the boss on the farm since 2005. Teresa brings cosiness to every corner of the farm, the house, and the apartments. Here, everyone pitches in where needed – always with a smile on their face.

Farm by the mill

What does the Ladin name of our farm actually mean? Well, that’s quickly explained: “Lüch da” is the prefix of numerous farms in the Ladin-speaking Val Badia. It means roughly “Farm at …” or “Farm of …”.
“Morgnun,” on the other hand, is an archaic word from the time before today’s Ladin. It simply means “mill.” Only a few remains of the walls of the mill that once gave “Lüch da Morgnun” its name can be seen today.
We have chosen the mill wheel as part of our logo nonetheless. As a sign of our respect for our ancestors and our love for the farming tradition of the Dolomites.

Homeland, passion, craft: our farm

The clocks run a little differently here at an altitude of 1,180 metres, surrounded by meadows and forests. Our farm is a piece of real farm life, and we are proud of our dairy and livestock farm. We deliver our milk to the quality cheese dairy “Mila”, while we use the meat to produce top-quality products for our guests. Manuel, a trained butcher, has a special knack for good South Tyrolean speck (you have to give it a try). In addition to the happy cows and pigs, you’ll also meet chickens, rabbits, and our sweet goats on the farm. They especially enjoy a little petting.

Fun, relaxation, comfort:
the terrace and common room

A centrepiece of the farm is the inviting terrace: here, the little ones find their own paradise on the playground with a slide, swing, and sandbox. In the meantime the adults enjoy a game of table tennis or badminton, or find a quiet spot in the sun. Here you can also fire up the barbecue and enjoy a cosy get-together. In winter or when the weather doesn’t cooperate, our large, cosy common room awaits you. It is a place for meeting, with a book corner and numerous board games for all ages.
